ScoreShell™ designs are the interchangeable bird feeder shells that give your feeder its look. Slide one off and the next one on — the look changes in seconds.
Easily change the ScoreShell to match the season, the game or the event. ScoreShells are designed to be interchangeable across ScoreFeeders™ bird feeder bases.
ScoreHome™ Feeder Base is the feeder itself — slide out the high-quality seed tray for easy refilling or cleaning.
Lift the cover and slide out the seed tray, fill, and slide it back. The ScoreShell is designed to stay in place, and there’s no awkward lid to fight with.
ScoreShine™ Feeder Base has the same features as the ScoreHome™ Feeder Base, and adds built in solar powered LED lighting to highlight your passion, even when the lights go down.
The ScoreShine™ Feeder Base uses integrated solar-powered LED lighting to illuminate your ScoreShell™ after dark. Nothing to plug in, plus a manual on/off switch when you’d rather leave it dark.

Our team has developed and launched dozens of consumer products. Most recently, three members of our team (marked *) built a product that was acquired by one of the world’s largest consumer products companies and is now sold at most major retailers and advertised on TV.

The details
We’re selecting production materials and completing durability testing for heat, cold, moisture and freeze-thaw conditions before full-scale manufacturing.
Knowing it will cost more, our goal is 100% United States manufacturing. We’ve identified US manufacturers for the ScoreShells™, the ScoreHome™ Feeder Base and the packaging, and manufacturing planning is under way for anticipated delivery in 2027. Some ScoreShine™ electronics will likely come from overseas; we’ll name exactly which parts rather than rounding the whole product up to “Made in USA.”

Where it all started
ScoreFeeders™ began in a living room in Marlborough, Massachusetts, looking at a row of bird feeders that never changed. Why should a feeder look the same all year when everything else in the backyard changes with the seasons, the holidays and the big game? The first answers were 3D-printed in a basement and tested in the backyard, with two dogs on squirrel patrol.
That question became a modular feeder system: one bird feeder base, a ScoreShell™ bird feeder shell you can swap in seconds, and a new look for every season, holiday, occasion and team.

Knowing it will cost more, our goal is to have 100% of the ScoreFeeders™ product line manufactured in the United States. We’ve already identified United States manufacturers for the ScoreShells™ and the ScoreHome™ Feeder Base as well as the packaging. Manufacturing planning is under way, with delivery anticipated in 2027.
For the ScoreShine™ Feeder Base, which shines mini spotlights on the ScoreShells™ for night-time illumination (it is very cool), some electronic components will likely need to be sourced overseas, since solar and LED parts are unfortunately unavailable domestically at these volumes.
We are still working through these details and will be sure to share with our customers exactly which parts are “Made in USA” and which are sourced elsewhere.
That’s what the vote is for. We’re working through the licensing process university by university, and we don’t sell anything carrying a university’s name, logo or marks until that license is in place. The vote decides which two universities meet in the ScoreFeeders™ SeedBowl and go first in line for licensing — not which ones are guaranteed, and not how quickly a license can be signed. Fan voting helps guide future licensing priorities; it does not indicate an existing university license or affiliation.
We currently plan for each ScoreFeeder™ to include one ScoreShine™ Feeder Base and one ScoreShell™. Final contents, designs and specifications may change before launch and are at the sole discretion of Avian Sciences, LLC.
Yes — hundreds of concepts and 3D prints, and dozens of finished prototypes, all made on our own 3D printers. Every image and every video on this site is an actual ScoreFeeders™ prototype built in our development lab and finished by hand, not a rendering and not a stock photo. What you’re looking at is the real product.
What doesn’t exist yet is an injection molded production unit. Some of the initial simple molds are on order; the rest of the tooling, which is very expensive, is what a large portion of launch sales will pay for.
